The Roundhouse: Why It Matters

December 19, 2019 2:03 PM

The Reverend Roundhouse is one of our most traditional guitars.  The mix of tonewoods creates a perfect classic rock tone for those who want to sound like the guitar superstars of a former age. The Korina body wood is well renowned for its resonance and warmth, the carved flame maple cap makes the tone livelier. Korina wood plus a carved maple top makes for a massive tone.

But a massive tone doesn’t mean a hefty guitar.  Like all Reverends, this guitar is designed with today’s players in mind. The guitar weighs about 8 lbs. Comparing Korina to Mahogany;  It sounds similar, but Korina is lighter weight and much more consistent. A Roundhouse is going to weigh between 7.5 – 8.5 lbs., and not the 9-12 lbs. of a more traditional guitar in this category.  As a result of the lighter weight, you can play longer, feel better doing it, without fighting the dreaded neck dive all night long.

If you’re into traditional guitars, but you’re ready for something new and innovative, check out the Reverend Roundhouse!
