Reverend Jetstream 390

by Shawn Hammond

Building on its reputation for ingenuity and excellence, Reverend
recently unveiled the lower-priced Stage King series to make its
majo more accessible. Unlike many semi-hollow guitars, its spruce
top doesn't incorporate soundholes that might exacerbate feedback
problems, and the internal tone chambers (hollowed-out cavities)
in the Jetstream's mahogany body add airy resonance. The three
P-90s and unique bass contour knob (which lets you turn down only
the low frequencies) open the door to more tones. Use the five-way
pickup-selector switch to combine the bridge and middle pickups
for slinky funk or the middle and neck pickups for phat funk.
Other combinations are good for everything from classic rock to
blues. The Jetstream also gets kudos for its easy-to-play setup,
upscale Wilkinson tremolo system, and dependable locking tuners.
