Can you give us a brief history of your
playing career?
Basically started up in the San Francisco thrash scene in the
mid eighties. Did some time in Laaz Rockit, Killing Culture, Skinlab
and now M.O.D. (Method Of Destruction)
What inspired you to start playing guitar?
I was just a little kid when my mom took me to see Led Zeppelin
in 1976. Can't say I really absorbed it on a musical level too
much. But there was something about the visuals of the whole thing
that made me want to do that. Really amazing memory though.
What was your first electric guitar?
My first electric guitar was a solid body Gretsch. Don't know
what model it was. Never saw another one like it ever. But I had
to sell it to pay for the paper route money I spent on pizza and
weed. I know... I was a punk ass kid.

What was the proudest moment and/or performance
of your playing career?
Dynamo Festival in Holland. Playing in front of 35,000 people
is the best rush I have ever had. And I got to wear sunglasses
while I played, which made it that much cooler since it was outside
during the day and I didn't feel like a dork wearing sunglasses
to look cool, as opposed to a dork wearing sunglasses to keep
the sun out of his eyes.
How did you hear about Reverend?
Actually from Ken Haas and Joe Naylor at a local bar here
in Austin during the NAMM show weekend. When a guy as big as Ken
tells you that you need to check out their guitars... you do it!
What Reverend guitar(s) are you using?
Black Volcano baby.
What do you like about your Reverend guitar?
Mainly the feel, it's really impressive. The neck is fast and
the tone is quality. Plus the fact that it has metal written all
over the visual aspects of it... goes real far in my book.
What amps and pedals do you currently use?
Mesa Dual Recto/Line 6 Pod. No pedals on my side of the stage.
Do you have any unusual hobbies, skills,
or pastimes you'd like to share with us?
Unusual... I don't think so. I love producing bands, playing
with my dog, and cooking. That may be a let down to some... but
biting the heads off bats and bangin everything in site has been
done. I miss it sometimes, but I just don't have the same taste
for bat anymore.
Do you have any advice for up and coming
players?
Learn how to write songs!!!! Shredding is cool for a few minutes...
but a good song will last forever. Now if you can write a great
song and shred... move to L.A.

projects, tours, cds, etc. we should know about:
Well, M.O.D.'s new record just came out, so we're just waiting
for tour options to come thru for that... just got done producing
A Band Of Orcs debut cd, and in about a week I'll be heading to
San Francisco to produce the new Laaz Rockit album. I love playing
music and touring... but I also have a passion for producing music.
It's what I'll be doing long after my road days are gone.
