Can you give us a brief history of your
playing career?
Started in the middle sixties playing a combination of surf music
(in Kansas....), R & B, British Invasion, a little of everything
actually. Started writing songs and starved for several years,
then we got signed with a major label and off we went. By 1976
we had radio hits, were triple platinum sales, and touring the
world in arenas.
What inspired you to start playing guitar?
Standing in front of a surf music band at a local Rec. Center
in 1963.
What was your first electric guitar?
I made it. It was an old Stella acoustic and I had fixed a microphone
inside. After that I got one out of the Sears catalog.
What are your top 5 favorite records?
Wow - don't think I could really answer that, my tastes are too
numerous and eclectic.
What was the proudest moment and/or performance
of your playing career? Maybe selling out Madison Square
Garden.
How did you hear about Reverend?
Vintage Guitar mag I think.
What Reverend guitar(s) are you using? 1999
Slingshot and 2006 Flatroc.
What do you like about your Reverend guitar?
They are totally unique - nothing else like them.
What amps and pedals do you currently use?
Custom built Jones KL100 with 4x10 cabinet. (they named the model
after me!) I also use a Jones-built replica Fender Super Reverb.
I use a Vox Tonelab SE pedalboard.
