Bob Balch explains Fu Manchu’s insanely fuzzy tone

Premier Guitar Magazine sat down with Fu Manchu to talk about their Southern California sound. “We made an effort on this record to make it as fuzzy as possible,” says Reverend Signature Artist, Bob Balch. “[W]hen the guys at Reverend suggested having a routed-out chamber in the body underneath the pickguard, I was like, ‘hell yeah!’ I don’t know exactly why—I don’t build guitars—but it just adds a lot more sustain.”
